My mom was telling a story this weekend about an old boyfriend who was possibly unstable. I asked if she ever felt scared and this was her response.

Mom- It's not like he would've made me into a flag or anything.
Jesse- Um, what do you mean?
Mom- You know, he would never like, cut off my skin and fly it on a flagpole over Santa Cruz.
Jesse- No mom, I've never heard of people being turned into flags.
Mom- (looks thoughtful for a minute, then puts hand over mouth and giggles) I guess I made it up!
